First-time setup checklist
Before sending any SMS commands, work through this list. Skipping a step accounts for most of the support emails I receive.
- Insert a working SIM card into a regular phone. Confirm voice and SMS work. Disable the SIM PIN.
- Insert the SIM into the G202 PLUS. Connect DC 9-36V.
- Wait for the signal LED to blink slowly (network registered). This takes 30-90 seconds on first power-up.
- From an authorized phone, send the change-password command to replace the default
1234with your own. - Add yourself as the first authorized user. Confirm by calling the SIM number — the gate should pulse.
- Wire the relay output to your gate motor's trigger input (typically labelled "ON", "MAN", "OPEN").
The detailed setup walkthrough with example SMS commands is in the G202 PLUS setup guide .

If a command returns Error password, double-check that you are sending the command from an
authorized phone using exactly the syntax above. The Callny firmware is strict
about case, spacing, and the # delimiters.
Common causes:
- Sending from a number that is not on the authorized list (call the gate first to test).
- Old password still cached after a factory reset. The post-reset default reverts to
1234. - Lowercase command keywords. Callny commands accept lowercase, but spacing matters.
- Extra spaces or autocorrect inserted by your phone keyboard. Disable predictive text for the gate's SIM number.

Skip the SMS commands entirely
The whole reason this site exists is that nobody enjoys typing SMS commands like
{pwd}#TEL+31612345678#001#
from memory. GateOpener gives you buttons, forms, and confirmation screens — same hardware,
clean interface.
